Long ago, in a land that now seems very far away, we remember how our Grandfathers hand crafted furniture, tied their own flies for fishing, created beautiful lighting, built one of the most beautiful Christmas displays under their trees that we had ever seen and in fact did nearly everything by hand. I'll bet many of you had Grandfathers or Fathers or Uncles like that. They did such beautiful work that we often wish that we had been old enough to learn from them.

. . . When the internet got started some years back we had a thought. Why not track down folks that still create hand crafted items like our Grandfathers did ? Sounds simple enough, but it took nearly two years to create what you see here. We had only a few rules to guide us. The work we chose had to be the very best we could find, it had to be hand crafted and it had to be useful. After all Grandpap didn't make junk and he didn't make dust collectors ! His time was just too precious to him.
